Understanding and Quietening Anxiety and Alarm in Body Dysmorphia - A Live Online Afternoon Event to Support Your Healing If you live with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) or intense appearance anxiety, you’ll know how exhausting it can be to feel stuck in a cycle of checking, comparing, and distress. But beneath all of this, many of us carry a quiet sense of fear, distress, tension, or inner alarm that doesn’t always get recognised, even by us. This 2.5-hour live Zoom event is hosted by accredited therapists who have personal lived experience of BDD themselves; we explore how anxiety and emotional overwhelm often sit at the core of BDD and how we can begin to soothe the nervous system. What to Expect This is a live, interactive and experiential session, but you’re welcome to keep your camera off if that feels more comfortable. You’ll have the option to join small, gentle breakout conversations, but there’s no pressure to speak or share. Whether you want to engage or simply listen in quietly, you’ll be held in a safe, non-judgemental space. Together, we’ll: • Explore what anxiety actually is and how it feels in your body • Discover how nervous system dysregulation fuels BDD symptoms • Explore and practicing some somatic tools to help ground, calm, and steady yourself • Discuss ways to shift from internal alarm into a more peaceful state • Start building a sense of inner safety one that doesn’t rely on how you look Who Is This For?
